This blog contains the mood board of the music video. The mood board was created by Cassie and I, while Tisha made the contents of this blog.

Music Video Mood board

What is the purpose of a mood board? 

    Making a mood board allows to have a rough idea of the visual of a media that is targeted to be followed or produce, in which this case is the music video. Mood board consists of pictures that contains the same visual aesthetic design which this allow to give a goal and understanding of the overall feeling of the music video to all of the member to be at the same page. 

    From the song choice that we decided to do for the music video it is a song called POV by Ariana Grande. This song gives of the feeling of couples and relationship from the rhythm of the music and the lyrics, so we decided to use 2 characters focusing on their relationship. 

This is the list of characters that will be use in the music video and their individual mood board with a brief explanation on what aesthetic and feeling we are trying to do on each character. 

Characters: 

• Ellie Collins —
        A girl who finds beauty in quiet moments like watching sunsets, reading, taking photos and listening to music at a record cafe. Nature is her safe space, she loves to surround herself in it, often taking quiet strolls in the park with her dog. She's an introvert but once you get to know her, she becomes the most nicest person that would be very expressive about it which this is shown from the mood board of a person smiling and showing that she is happy. She also find foods and receiving gifts as a way for her to feel happy which shows that she is important and is love by people.

• Karl William—
        A boy who loves the dark and gloomy aesthetic which makes him mysterious but has a soft spot for people he truly cares the most. Treating them as the world as it is where he is able to express himself freely which can be seen from the pictures shown where he treat them as a gentlemen. He is the type who would do fun stuff to make a girl laugh and put a smile on her face, where he captures every single moment with her to keep memories of them together.

• The Couple together
        The couple aesthetic that we are going for is the kind of couple who are mature but still enjoy the simple fun activities that teenage would do like going to arcades and playing together. They go to places that mean something to them like places that has memories with them together. The couple who would always take pictures of each other and even together to remember their activity.

Locations: 

• Dates:
        The dates that we plan on going for the aesthetics are simple date that can create more feeling from the scene. We focus on to a more vintage retro vibe lighting like the photo booths pictures to express the memories being capture as it means a lot to them, a simple walk in the park which shows how they are doing things that Ellie enjoys especially where we show them at the park and spending time together.

Platform — Pinterest

    To allow me and my friends to compile all of our ideas from several images, we decided to use a platform called Pinterest. Pinterest is a platform that provides visual images that can help us find our inspiration and ideas. So we decided to use it and make it accessible for everyone in the team to input the images that have the same feeling that we are going for.

    This Pinterest board become very useful for our moodboard especially as it becomes easier for us to find the images and put them into one file together using Pinterest instead of google search where the image need to be downloaded and move to a separate files. Pinterest is also easy and fast when providing the specific style and aesthetic that we want. 

Reflections:

This mood board was really fun to make. It included lots of creativity, and it made our artist easier to visualize. Since I'm going to be the actress for the video, seeing the inspiration that we're following made me feel more comfortable going into the filming stage. Next time, completing the mood board first would be very helpful, just because it ties everyone's ideas together and puts our level of understanding at the same place.
